Fairmont Bab Al Bahr |
My second hotel staycation here in UAE fell during the observance of Eid-al-Fitr or End of Ramadan. As usual, thanks to my cousin who works in a travel agency, we were able to secure a dirt cheap rate of AED 464 per room with breakfast for 2 for an overnight stay in 5 star hotel
Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. A far cry from its average pricey rate, it stands next to its four-star hotel neighbor, Traders Hotel by Shangri-la.

We arrived quite earlier than standard 3:00pm check in time. While waiting at the front desk, we filled ourselves with their welcome baked goodies, delicious croissants, cookies and pies served with tea and fresh fruit juice.

We were glad to have been assisted by friendly kababayans manning the front desk. They were very approachable and accommodating, giving us a good room with a beach view. And hey, wifi is available on all areas, free of charge!

Located 20 km from Ferrari World and Yas Water World, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is a 5 star beachfront hotel with breathtaking view overlooking UAE's grandest mosque. Check out the photo below, our room's most spectacular feature - the scenic view of
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Emirates ID is required during check in, just like in any other hotels. After filling ourselves with delicious pastries, we headed straight to out hotel room. Fairmont hotel features 369 contemporary rooms, it's so far the most spacious hotel room I've been to here in Abu Dhabi.

After resting for a while, we checked out their gym then proceeded to the pool area. The water was so inviting that we hang out in the pool until past sunset playing with our ever reliable camera buddy, GoPro, before heading to the beach.

Fairmont pool |
What I love most about Fairmont is it's outdoor swimming pool which is adorned with palm trees in between the Olympic size pool offering a much needed respite against the desert sun. It's temperature controlled, features a pool bar and great for doing laps and for swimmers who wants to swim deep.

As sunset draws near, we went to the private beach where some of our companions swam to the inflatable beach float.

We had our dinner at a friend's room who was celebrating his birthday that day. After meal, we wasted no time and toured the rest of the hotel vicinity, including the building's facade.

I had a really good sleep. Bed and pillow sheets were crisp and clean. At around 7am, we were already at the restaurant for the breakfast buffet.
Standard breakfast cost is AED105. The room price we paid already includes breakfast for 2. Yey for the savings!

Gracious service, spacious rooms and one of the best pools in the city, I'll definitely want to go back to Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, one of Abu Dhabi's finest hotels.
